If you are looking for German WW2 militaria, seek no more, we have a large inventory of items for you.  The best headgear, medals, badges, uniforms, flags, boots, gas masks and much more German WW2 Militaria.

The German WW2 militaria we all enjoy collecting comes mostly from the German Wehrmacht (german for “Defense Force”). It was created by Adolf Hitler on 15 March 1935, after the dissolution of the Reichswehr, the Weimar Republic Armed forces.

The emblem was a simpler form of the Iron Cross (the straight-armed so-called Balkenkreuz or beamed cross) that had been used as an aircraft and tank marking in late World War I. Good for us, they used it in all sorts of items like rings, medals, flags and pins. They are great German WW2 militaria items.

It was announced that the Wehrmacht, unlike the Reichswehr, would not comply with the restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles (1919), which limited the German armed forces to 100,000 volunteer men with no heavy artillery, thanks, submarines or even aircraft.

The full numeral of soldiers who served in the German Wehrmacht during its being from 1935 until 1945 is believed to style 18.2 million. This figure was put onward by historian Rüdiger Overmans and represents the whole sum of people who ever served in the Wehrmacht, and not the power of the Wehrmacht at any point in time. About 2.3 million Wehrmacht soldiers were deceased; 550,000 died from non-combat causes; 2.0 million MIA and unaccounted for after the war; and 459,000 POW deaths, of which 77,000 were in the custody of the U.S., UK, and France; POW blank includes 266,000 in the post war period after June 1945, mostly in Soviet captivity.

Following the unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht which took place on 8 May 1945, some Wehrmacht units remained active, both independently (e.g. in Norway), or under Allied command as law enforcement. By the end of August 1945, these units had been dissolved, and a year following on 20 August 1946, the Allied Control Council dissolved the Wehrmacht as authoritatively abolished (Kontrollratsgesetz No. 34). While Germany was forbidden to have an army, Allied forces took advantage of the skill of Wehrmacht members like Reinhard Gehlen.

The German Wehrmacht was divided in three official branches (All of the branches have great militaria): Heer (the army), Kriegsmarine(the navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force). The Waffen SS can be considered, de facto, a fourth branch of the Wehrmacht.
